Stefanie A. Hurst
Dr. Hurst’s interest in vision and the study of light started at a young age. She had a great mentor from her hometown of Redwood Falls, MN who guided and “showed her the ropes.” Dr. Hurst is an alumna of the University of Minnesota and graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2000 with honors. Since graduation she wanted to pursue her dream of opening a private optometric practice. In August 2002, she and her husband John took a leap of faith and opened their Savage office. Dr. Hurst is very active in the Savage community and was named Savage Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the year in 2008.
In 2011 Dr. Hurst started the FVC Scholarship which is awarded to a senior in ISD 719 who will be pursuing a degree in the medical field. In 2018, the scholarship was renamed the Dr. Jenna L. Sculley Memorial Scholarship in honor of FVC’s beloved doctor who passed away unexpectedly. Dr. Hurst is attentive to her patients and strives to make everyone feel welcome in the office. The FVC staff would say she is committed to excellence and quality and seeks the best options for patients and her staff. Dr. Hurst is busy outside her practice with her husband, daughter and twin sons. She enjoys family time, the lake, shopping, reading, and chocolate!
